Precautions for functional acceptance of gas fire extinguishing system

Gas fire extinguishing system is one of the well-known fire-fighting systems. Now it has been popularized to all major places and facilities. Due to its excellent performance and friendly price, it is widely praised in the market. This article is to let you know what should be paid attention to when the gas fire-extinguishing equipment is accepted after construction and installation.


As we all know, the acceptance of gas fire extinguishing system should be carried out after the construction and installation, and the acceptance of gas fire extinguishing system is the functional acceptance. The functional acceptance of gas fire extinguishing system includes four parts:


1、 Simulated start-up test; 2、 Simulated air jet test; 3、 Analog switching operation test; 4、 Conduct switching test for main and standby power supply.


1、 Simulated start test


The purpose of simulated start-up test is to detect the correctness and reliability of the action of the control gas fire extinguishing system, so as to ensure that the control system can play the expected role.


Inspection quantity: 20% of the total number of protected areas or objects (less than 5 are counted as 5).


Inspection method:


1. The automatic simulated starting test can be carried out according to the following methods:


① Connect the starting output end of the fire extinguishing controller with the driving device of the corresponding protection zone of the fire extinguishing system. The driving device shall be separated from the actuating mechanism of the valve. It can also be replaced by a load with the same starting voltage and current as that of the driving device.


② Manually simulate the fire alarm to make any fire detector in the protection area act, and observe whether the action of relevant alarm equipment is normal after a single fire alarm signal is output (such as the alarm bell, buzzer, etc.).


③ Manually simulate the fire alarm to make another fire detector in the protection area act, and observe whether the relevant action signals and linkage equipment act normally after the output of the composite fire alarm signal (such as sending out audible and visual alarms, starting the load at the output end, closing ventilation and air conditioning, fire dampers, etc.).


2. The manual simulated start-up test can be carried out according to the following methods: (it is also necessary to separate the driving device from the action mechanism of the valve or replace it with a load equivalent to the driving device)


Press the manual start button and observe whether the relevant action signals and the action of the linkage equipment are normal (such as sending out audible and visual alarms, starting the load response at the output end, closing the ventilation and air conditioning, fire dampers, etc.).


Manually operate the pressure signal feedback device and observe whether the gas emission indicator outside the relevant protection area is normal.


3. The simulated start-up test results shall comply with the following provisions:


① The delay time is consistent with the set time, and the response time meets the requirements;


② Relevant sound and light alarm signals are correct;


③ The action of linkage equipment is correct;


④ The driving device operates reliably.


2、 Simulated air jet test


The purpose of simulated air injection test is to detect the action reliability of gas fire extinguishing system and the correctness of pipeline connection, so as to ensure that the fire extinguishing system can play the expected role.


Inspection quantity: the combined distribution system should not be less than 1 protection area or protected object. Prefabricated fire extinguishing systems such as cabinet type gas fire extinguishing devices and hot aerosol fire extinguishing devices have certificates, and they can not be inspected if they are not assembled on site; However, considering the reliability of fire extinguishing, it is recommended to conduct linkage test.


Inspection method:


1. The conditions of simulated air jet test shall comply with the following provisions:


① IG541 mixed gas fire-extinguishing system and high-pressure carbon dioxide fire-extinguishing system should use their filled extinguishing agents for simulated air injection test. The number of storage containers used in the test shall be 5% of the total number of containers required for the design consumption of the protection area or protection object selected for the test, and shall not be less than 1.


② Low pressure carbon dioxide fire extinguishing system shall adopt carbon dioxide extinguishing agent for simulated air injection test. The test shall be carried out in the protective area or object with a long transmission pipeline, and the spraying amount shall not be less than 10% of the design amount.


③ Halon extinguishing agent should not be used in the simulated air jet test of Halon extinguishing system, and nitrogen or compressed air should be used. The structure, model and specification of the nitrogen or compressed air storage container and the fire extinguishing agent storage container used in the protected area or protected object to be tested shall be the same, the connection and control mode shall be consistent, and the filling pressure of nitrogen or compressed air shall be in accordance with the design requirements. The number of nitrogen or compressed air storage containers shall not be less than 20% of the number of extinguishing agent storage containers, and shall not be less than 1.


④ Automatic starting mode should be adopted for simulated air jet test.


2. The simulated air jet test results shall meet the following requirements:


① The delay time is consistent with the set time, and the response time meets the requirements.


② Relevant sound and light alarm signals are correct.


③ Relevant control valves work normally.


④ After the signal feedback device acts, the gas emission indicator outside the gas protection area should work normally.


⑤ The equipment in the storage container room and the fire extinguishing agent transmission pipeline in the corresponding protection area or protected object shall be free from obvious shaking and mechanical damage.


⑥ The test gas can be sprayed into the protected area or the protected object, and it should be able to be sprayed from each nozzle.


3、 Analog switching operation test


The purpose of the simulated switching operation test is to check the correctness and reliability of the pipeline connection of the standby extinguishing agent storage container and the system operation device. So as to ensure that the gas fire extinguishing system can play the expected role.


Inspection quantity: all inspection.


Inspection method: switch the use state of the system from the main fire extinguishing agent storage container to the use state of the standby fire extinguishing agent storage container. Conduct simulated air jet test, and the test results shall meet the relevant requirements of the results of simulated air jet test.


4、 Switching test of main and standby power supply


Inspection method: switch the system to the standby power supply and conduct the simulated start-up test. The test results meet the relevant requirements of simulated start-up.


The gas fire extinguishing system can be put into use only after it is accepted to be in normal working condition. If one item is unqualified, the system is also judged to be unqualified. Therefore, it is necessary to reach a consensus with the construction party or manufacturer in the early stage of the project.
