It is close to the end of the year, and many places that purchase and use heptafluoropropane have begun to test heptafluoropropane cylinders. Today's article is about how many years does heptafluoropropane undergo inspection? How long is the scrap life of steel cylinders? How long is the validity period of heptafluoropropane fire extinguishing agent? And other issues bring you a popular science article, so that you can learn about relevant knowledge later.

How many years does heptafluoropropane storage cylinder undergo inspection?

The detection of steel cylinders is related to containers. Look for the provisions of national containers. The provisions related to containers in code for design of gas fire extinguishing systems gb50370-2005 are as follows:

The design and use of storage containers and driving gas cylinders shall comply with the current national regulations on safety supervision of gas cylinders and regulations on safety technology supervision of pressure vessels.

Check the provisions on the inspection of steel cylinders in the regulations on safety supervision of gas cylinders. Find out article 7.4.1 of Supervision Regulation on safety technology of gas cylinders tsgr0006-2014:

7.4.1.1 the inspection cycle of gas cylinders shall not exceed the provisions of this article. Steel seamless gas cylinders, steel welded gas cylinders (note 7-1) aluminum alloy seamless gas cylinders:

(1) Cylinders containing nitrogen, sulfur hexafluoride, inert gas and non corrosive high-purity gas with purity greater than or equal to 99.999% shall be inspected once every five years;

(2) Cylinders containing gases that can corrode cylinder materials, diving cylinders and cylinders often in contact with seawater shall be inspected once every two years;

(3) Cylinders containing other gases shall be inspected once every three years.

The inspection cycle of the gas cylinder mentioned in the preceding paragraph containing mixed gas shall be determined according to the gas with short inspection cycle in the mixed gas.

It can be seen from the above regulations that heptafluoropropane belongs to other gas cylinders, so it should be tested every three years. If you use carbon dioxide, nitrogen cylinders, sulfur hexafluoride or IG541 and other inert gas cylinders, it should be tested every five years.

How long is the scrap life of heptafluoropropane cylinders?

As for the service life of heptafluoropropane gas cylinders, according to 3.8 of TSG r0006-2014 Supervision Regulation on safety technology of gas cylinders, the manufacturer shall specify the design service life of the cylinders and mark it on the design documents and marks of the cylinders. The design service life of the cylinders shall not be less than that specified in table 3-5. If the design service life determined by the manufacturer exceeds the provisions of table 3-5, it shall be verified by corresponding type tests and corrosion tests, or the design corrosion allowance shall be increased and verified. The design service life of steel welded gas cylinders in table 3-5 is 20 years.

Therefore, according to the regulations, the scrap life of heptafluoropropane cylinders is 20 years. Of course, this is under the condition of correct use. Once the cylinders are deformed or leaked, they must be handed over to the plant for proper treatment.

How long is the validity period of heptafluoropropane fire extinguishing agent?

The storage stability of heptafluoropropane has always been a matter of doubt, but in the process of progress and evolution for 20 years, heptafluoropropane has been continuously tested and tested in all aspects, which has proved that heptafluoropropane has extremely high thermal stability and chemical stability, and its validity period has exceeded the shelf life of 50 years. Heptafluoropropane is not the same as other materials, such as chemical reaction in water, proper treatment and storage of heptafluoropropane, it is no exaggeration to say that it can have a nearly unlimited shelf life. But conservatively speaking, heptafluoropropane can have a shelf life of 50 years.

Let's talk about the consequences if heptafluoropropane is not tested?

After using the gas cylinder for a long time, the cylinder will become thinner due to external pollution, and cracks will appear due to the corrosion of the cylinder by water or other impurities in the cylinder. In case of high heat, the internal pressure of the container will increase. If the heptafluoropropane cylinder is not detected in time, there will be the risk of cracking and explosion, and there will be major potential safety hazards. In serious cases, it may endanger the surrounding personnel and cause casualties, and the relevant personnel will also bear the corresponding legal responsibility.

Gas fire extinguishing system is to protect equipment in important places, and it is particularly important to ensure that the fire extinguishing system is in normal operation. Otherwise, in case of fire, it will have a great impact on users, equipment and society, and the losses caused by the involvement will be very large.
