Heptafluoropropane symbolizes the glorious new era of gas fire extinguishing. Looking back, heptafluoropropane is coming step by step with gas fire extinguishing devices. Today, we want to talk about the evolution history of heptafluoropropane,

In the sixties and seventies of the last century, with the wide use and reliability of halon fire extinguishers, gas fire extinguishers shine. Halon fire extinguishers are Halon type gas fire extinguishers, which are extremely fast in fire extinguishing efficiency, colorless and tasteless, widely accepted by the market.

However, Halon gas fire extinguishers, that is, halon fire extinguishers, have brought irreversible damage and impact to the environment. Because of their gas characteristics, although the fire extinguishing efficiency is high, the substances precipitated in the atmosphere have caused serious damage to the atmospheric ozone layer. In the 1980s, when halon fire extinguishers were still popular, foreign scientists found at the Antarctic Haley Bay observatory that in the past 10-15 years, every spring, The ozone concentration over Antarctica will be reduced by 30%, and nearly 95% of the ozone in the central area over the polar region will be destroyed. The resulting "ozone hole" is about the size of the United States. Such a terrible environmental disaster was later confirmed by American scientists that Chlorofluoroalkanes and halons (halons) were the culprits of ozone layer destruction. Subsequently, halons were put in the cold, and even the use of halons was strictly prohibited in some countries.

With the collapse of halon fire extinguishers, it represents the end of its pioneering era of gas fire extinguishing, and then batch after batch of gas fire extinguishing products emerged like bamboo shoots after the rain. The first one to bear the brunt is carbon dioxide fire extinguishers. CO2 fire extinguishing technology is a part of the earth's large gas composition. Under normal temperature and pressure, it is a colorless, tasteless, non-conductive, chemically neutral and non corrosive gas. Its fire extinguishing mechanism is mainly to dilute oxygen and suffocate. Carbon dioxide can be liquefied and stored. When the concentration of CO2 reaches 10%, people will lose consciousness or even die within a few minutes, and this concentration is far lower than the design concentration of fire extinguishers, so it can not be used in human haunting scenes, and in terms of fire extinguishing efficiency, it can not achieve the expected fire extinguishing efficiency, so it can not become a substitute for halon fire extinguishers.

Then, in the 1990s, FM200 was born. At the same time, smoke burning gas fire extinguishing appeared. Both met the gas fire extinguishing standards at that time: no impact on the environment, colorless, tasteless, high fire extinguishing efficiency, can be used in places with people, and will not cause harm to human body in a short time.

Then it was widely recognized in the foreign market, and then it was introduced into China. At the same time, it named FM200, which is well-known heptafluoropropane. Heptafluoropropane, relying on its strong Fire-extinguishing Performance and excellent characteristics of non-corrosion to electronic equipment, colorless, tasteless and low toxicity, was widely used. At the same time, it dominated the whole gas fire-extinguishing market and became an ideal substitute for halon fire extinguishers. At the same time, the performance and application scope of cigarette soldering were not as good as those of heptafluoropropane, but the price was unsatisfactory, so its performance in the market was not outstanding.

Then came the inert gas fire extinguishing agent: Ig series. The Ig series is famous for IG541 and IG100. The difference between them is that the proportion of mixed gas is different. The effect of inert gas is very obvious, and the design concentration and gas itself will not cause any harm to human body. Chemical fire extinguishing agents such as heptafluoropropane will also cause harm to human body when the concentration is too high. However, inert gas fire extinguishing agents are not as efficient as chemical fire extinguishing agents such as heptafluoropropane in terms of fire extinguishing performance. This is why heptafluoropropane cannot be replaced in the market.

Subsequently, the emergence of a brand-new fire extinguishing gas: 1230 perfluorohexanone innovated the gas fire extinguishing products, which not only had the green and environmental protection of inert gas fire extinguishing agents, but also had the high efficiency of chemical fire extinguishing agents. It was also an ideal substitute for heptafluoropropane at present.

However, due to the fact that perfluoroacetone has not been widely used in the market, its application in the market is not yet mature, and many people still rely on sevofluran, perfluoroacetone cannot replace sevofluran in a short time, but we can see that gas fire extinguishing products are developing continuously with high quality.
